Coris wrasse reef safe?

My LFS has some coris wrasses that are in the middle of changing from juveniles to mature. Are the reef safe as in won't eat coral? I don't care if the eat my hermit crabs (I'll trade as many as I can find).

They will flip small corals/rocks around looking for food. Otherwise, they are "coral safe"...

I had a red coris wrasse and said the same thing as you but eventually got sick of him killing my clean up crew. It will eat clams, snails, hermits, almost any crustacean. It did not eat corals but would flip frags around and it got really annoying having to pick them up out of the sand all day. He also kicked up sand like crazy so it got all over, it wasn't a big deal just keep in mind if you have no sand because they need it to sleep in/hide in.

My yellow coris ate all the hitchhiker feather dusters and flat worms! has not touched a cleaner shrimp or Halloween hermit. sps and lps safe

I glue all frags but even so sand storms will not be appreciated. I'm no longer considering it. Pretty fish though.

When you say Coris wrasses, what species are you referring to? Coris is simply a genus with quite a few species, or sometimes a common name for species of an entirely different genus.
