Corndork2's little build...

After that I dropped in the sandbed. Its made up of 60lbs of pure aragonite sand. It was seeded with 10lbs of sand from my previous system

The water would remain cloudy for a little while. After a few hours the skimmer cleaned up the water.

No reccomendations?? At all? I really just cant decide what snails to use, if I should use any crabs...etc. Ive had really good success with mexican turbos so I was thinking of using maybe 8-10 of them with another 10-15 astrea snails? Or is that too many? I know how turbos can mow down the algea

Also I cant decide on lighting. I have a 48" Spacelight fixture but Im not sure if I want to run that, or search for something else. Opinions?

Do I have to add crabs? Or will I be ok with those snails a couple serpent stars, maybe a brittle star, and a tiger tail sea cucumber? I already have the cucumber so hes goin in the tank regardless

Figured its time for some updated shots

I found out that a spare towel and my old sociology book didnt make for good vibration dampening so I installed dense foam under the Gen-X PCX-40 pump and along the back wall to reduce pump noise. It REALLY helped. Also a 1" check valve was added to stop siphoning in the event of a power failure.

Here are some skimmer shots. The Euro Reef has proved by far to be my best investment ever. In the second picture you can see the thick foam it makes in the body, and in the third you can see the dry skimmate build up.

The cheato has really taken off under the fuge lighting, and pods and tiny little snails are all over the fuge

Dang, that cheato does grow in a tight ball! I'm about ready to prune and I'll let you know when it's time.

Hows that Anemone doing? Where's the mohawk tang?
