When setting up a QT should it be empty of gravel and rock? I've heard that when using cupramine for example, the substrate and rock will absorb it causing you to add much more to the QT. Could you just use a piece of pvc for cover?
i use a empty tank with lots of pvc angles for fish to hide. Make sure you have at least a sponge flter that has some benefitial bacteria in it to help cycled the QT tank. then you can start you dosing. Monitor for ammonia and nitrate
I have read that the copper will also absorb into the silicone seals on the tank and once it is used to treat with copper then it should not be used for anything else.
