Correct way to clean Koralia power heads?

I need to clean my algae covered Koralia Nano power heads...what would be the best way to do this without damaging them? In the past I've took them apart and cleaned them piece by piece and occasionally broke them in the process. Is there a better way to clean them without taking them apart?

Run them In a 5G bucket overnight in vinegar. I usually aim for 50/50 vinegar to water.

Just did this with my return pump last night. After soaking I like to then take apart and clean.

Good luck!

Yep, works perfectly.

i'll also sometimes do a quick scrub with a toothbrush after the vinegar bath to help loosen up anything that is being stubborn.

Would it be possible to clean a submersible heater with the vinegar/water bath without damaging it?

i fully submerge heaters in vinegar baths regularly. never had an issue.

most parts of items like these are non-reactive, made of things like glass, metal, plastic, or rubber. also, the acetic acid in vinegar really isn't very strong.
