Cortez Angel

Saw a beautiful angel in my LFS last week - didn't recognise it at all.

Apparently it was a juvenile Cortez Angel, about 2 inches long only.

I looked it up and they are quite drab as adults...

Anyone have any experience... ?

The Juv looks a lot better than the adult color wise. Has a very similar shape to a french angel and can get on the large size when fully grow. Can be a little shy and not the best eaters. There pretty nonaggressive and can be kept with other angels but you need to watch as they're easily bullied.

Yeah, the juvvie is kinda like a French Angel juvvie with added blue - stunning. I'm just put off by the adult colouration...

I never know anyone that has had an Juv where it's changed over into adult. So I think the change takes quite some time and would be surprised if it did change over completely.

I've only seen adults in public aquaria. Quite large. Not attractive, IMO. Actually, I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale at a LFS, perhaps due to its drap adult coloring.

We had them occasionally at the LFS I worked at as a kid. Pretty hardy, as I recall.
