Cortez not eating! Help!

I have a 120gal
All levels are good

1clown
2 damsils
1 goby
100 pounds of sand
65 pounds of live rock stacked in the middle

lots of rooms for cortez to swim and burry
designed tank for cortez

I purchased cortez this past tuesday the 9th
At the fs he was eating snails I was told as thats where he was placed while waiting for me to pick him up.

I have tried to feed the cortez
frozen shrimp
fresh shrimp
frozen krill
nothing!!

He swims to the top and all around very active
He buries himself in the sand
When it comes to feeding he swims right by all food

My goby and other fish smell the food right away.

Please help.

Chop up some muscles or oysters. Drip some garlic on it. Also if you have pods he may just eat them.

If he had intention to eat wouldn't he eat. I have put the food literally next to him

Yeah not clear but the quote above will probably eliminate an angel.

Maybe he means the Paddlefin Wrasse (Thalassoma lucasanum)?

I second this^ garlic has worked well for me in the past.

Cortez Ray is what I would say. Look at the way the tank is set up. Have you tried live foods at all? Bloodworms may be an option as well. We used them to get some of the smaller ones to start eating before...

As for the OPs question I think he means a cortez stingray. Try live blackworms or even a live earthworm. All of the rays I've had over the years (fresh and salt) loved earthworms.
