All of the websites list this a non-reef safe fish but Scott Michael is in book says that it is reef-safe. Anyone have any experience with one in a reef tank?
Most all wrasses are reef safe in the sense that they won't eat corals. Unfortunately, the larger the wrasse gets, the more likely they are to eat everything else, starting with your cleanup crew, and going all the way up to shrimp, crabs, and fish. Not to mention the "redecorating" some will do with your reef.
Thanks. I read it several times to make sure what I was reading was correct because I had always read that this was not a reef-safe fish. It is very pretty but the family that it falls into is pretty much non-reef safe but he said the smaller species of this family could be trusted and specifically stated this species. Thanks again...the wrasse search continues.
