Cotton or Cauliflower?

I found this on one of my life rocks this morning. It's long and skinny like a worm but it looks like it's made from individual cotton balls or tiny cauliflower stalks. Any ideas?

Hard to tell from the pictures. Is it definitely a growth on the live rock? What's the texture like? Is it stringy? Any chance it's snail eggs?

It might be. It looks like it has tiny tiny white spots all over it. It's a dirty white with the little white dots on it. It moves in the water but doesn't come off the rock.
