Could anybody ID These Three Corals ?

murphreef,

I have to say that is the most spectacular Squamosa I have ever seen!!! And let me tell you, I have seen lots of them over the last 11 years that I have been doing this sort of work/love. The only place that I might have seen better is in Fiji where I see some that look like Maximas and are almost 2 feet in length!

Sweet, Sweet clam... Can I have a frag? :)

rleechb,

This looks to me like A. insignis. They are one of the few Acropora with corallites that contrast in color with the color of the branch. I have one similar on my website, check the following link for a comparison...

and/or

I know these don't look the same, but trust me as these grow out they will have exactly the same structure and similar color.

Oh and the one to the left of it looks like an A. tenuis.

I hope this helps you out, let me know if you have anymore.

Murphreef,

I hope to have more Purple Limeade A. nasuta available soon.

You can stop by at any time (while we are open :) ). We have tons in stock at all times. But I have to warn you, you will be overwhelmed when you view our system.

Have a great one,

Chris @ RM

Unfortunately Corn and Wentreefgirl are right about your photo being too small. If you can post a closeup of each individual coral and zoom in on them that would help out immensely.

Thanks for trying,

Chris @ RM

Mako,

Sweet pieces.

1) I believe this is the highly unusual A. meridiana. I haven't seen this species in a long, long time.

2) A. azurea with the rounded and tapered corallites. This is one of the nicest I have seen.

3) A. insignis but this particular specimen doesn't have the contrasting colored corallites that are normally found with this species.

4) From what I can make out from this small piece it seems to be A. tumida.

I hope this helps you out,

Chris @ RM
