could increasing my light really cause a drop in Ca/Alk?

Hi, I have a 4 month old 60 cube. My Ca/Alk dosing have been stable for about the last month, I added 3 monti caps and 2 stags about 3 weeks ago, today my Ca is down from 420ppm to 370 ppm my Alk from 8.5 dkh to 7(BRS recipe 1). The only change is last week increased the intensity of my Radion. The corals have been growing well, but is more light really enough to boost growth enough to increase the Ca/Alk consumption?

Sure, from what ive read and seen corals consume more whrn the lights are on up to a point and as the corals get bigger they grow faster requiring more ca/alk

More light will encourage more growth, & in turn will drop your Calcium and Alk.So yes, it really can.
