Here is an interesting article that I found pertaining to the use of online maps and how they can be used to help save the coral reefs. Pretty cool if you ask me. Just hope it works!

Interesting. I took a GIS course in high school that was pretty darn awesome. I ended up entering into a contest at the end of the year and won the State tournament. I forget the name of the program but it is commonly used for determining evacuation plans/efficient police buffer zones/etc.

Was it arcmap? I took a GIS course too in college and I cant remember the name either.

I'm a GIS Projects Manager for the AGency of Natural Resources for the State of Vermont. I was recently contacted to head down to the Gulf of Miss to map the cleanup effort of the BP Oil Spill. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go because "They had appropriate staff and had things under control" :lol:
