Could online maps save coral reefs? See article...

Interesting. I took a GIS course in high school that was pretty darn awesome. I ended up entering into a contest at the end of the year and won the State tournament. I forget the name of the program but it is commonly used for determining evacuation plans/efficient police buffer zones/etc.

I'm a GIS Projects Manager for the AGency of Natural Resources for the State of Vermont. I was recently contacted to head down to the Gulf of Miss to map the cleanup effort of the BP Oil Spill. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go because "They had appropriate staff and had things under control"

Thanks for the link.
