So a few minutes ago i sat down to take a look at my tank and in one of the corners where there is quite a bit of diatoms laying on my sandbed, i noticed what looked like tiny ghosts skimming the sand and a few were on the glass. They almost look like tiny snails because they move like them and there is a little colored hunch on their backs. They look like tiny transparent teeth. What are these things and what do i need to do?

also...

There are a bunch of these tiny dark worms all over my rocks and some on my glass. Not so many as it looks ridiculous...but if you look at the tank for a good while you start to notice a lot of them. They almost look blue at one end...they are about a CM long and they move very very slowly.

I can get a bad pic of the ghost teeth things tomorrow at work but for now, can anyone give me some ID's or some advice on how to handle these little guys? Thanks!

They might be planaria, but without a good picture, it's hard to say. If they are planaria, they likely can be ignored.

I'm sorry, I can't see anything. If they are flatworm-like, the only ones that seem to be a problem are the reddish ones, and that's an esthetic issue. Well, I'm assuming the flatworms you have are small. Some large animals, like the polyclads, might be problematic as well.

From the blurry pic, it looks like a white flatworm. IME the ones to worry about would be red planaria, which give off a toxin upon death. If they were to multiply significantly and dieoff, they could cause problems. If your critter is a small white flatworm, I think you'll be fine. A better pic would be very helpful for some of the ID gurus out there to help you out though.
