Here are a couple of pics of greater soapfish. Right area. The adult pics don't seem to have as prominent markings.

Please help as I do not want an adult soaper in here. Fish snatcher.

Thanks,
Noah

That is a soapfish...but the ones here do not get any bigger that what he is now....there was another fish, long skinny guy......dark...that was some kind of wrasse....

...hmm. I am pretty sure I would have noticed another wrasse-like fish . There were 5 clearly goby/blenny/jawfish types and then the soapfish. I thought that the soapfish was some kind of a wrasse until I couldn't ID it. You sure you sent a wrasse?

If that is all the bigger he gets, he should be ok. The florida fish article I found showed them getting several inches like the one in the third pic that the guy is holding. 'Eats smaller fish' in the article gave me concern. I don't think I could catch him even if I wanted to as he rarely makes an appearance.

So soapfish mystery solved, wrasse mystery deepens. I got a total of 6 fish. tiger goby, blue spot blenny, short squatty banded blenny, horned blenny, soapfish, and this is the ONLY one I have not really ID'd remotely: this can't be your 'wrasse' ?

Hmmmm

don't remember sending you that many fish.....I think you had some hitch hikers there!

That one is not the one I was thinking of...my best guess...juvenile lizard fish, defiantly a future fuge resident!

Yeah, I don't remember seeing that guy in a bag. He popped up a few days later and I had to do a doubletake. Everything else is clearly blenny/goby type. Must have been a Mystery Wrasse...lol
