Could you ID this tang ?

It is Acanthurus Fowleri it gets very big. Its a very mellow and kinda of expensive.

I check in Randall book and it i possible that is Acanthurus Fowleri, but it is quite different that in the picture in the book. Probably it will change colors.

Acanthurus Fowleri , they do change as they age. Awsome fish but wouldn't put one in anything under 350 gallons. They get 18" +.

Are you sure its A. fowleri? It looks more like A. bariene to me. The spots on the tail and gill plate make it pretty distinct, I think. Also, it looks big enough that I would expect a Fowler's to have that blue horseshoe mark behind the eye. Bariene will get an ear spot, but not until they are more mature.

Either way, you're talking about a huge fish as adult. Pretty, but it'll need a monster aquarium eventually.

For sure it's a bariene tang. It looks the same as mine except it's a juvenile. The black ear spot will show once it reaches 3-4".

180g is too small for it. The wild adult size is 19", similar to fowleri. The proper home is a minimum of 350g, preferrably 10-foot long.

The four common "large" acanthurus are bariene, fowleri, dussumieri, and blochii tangs. There are other large ones like mata, but these four are the common ones on the market and carry higher price tags than other acanthurus tangs.

yeah, better to stay away from large species like this unless you have a giant tank, or plan to build one soon. I've repeatedly heard from people who kept them in medium-sized tanks like 180g saying that the tangs outgrew their tanks in less than 2 years and actually were able to reach over 15".
