Hi there,

Possible to keep 2 pairs of two different species of clownfish, on a 39g aquarium ( red sea max 130 ) ?

for example, a pair of Ocellaris and a pair of Premnas.

Will they tolerate each other or its too close quarters ?

Do it.

No, don't do it. It would be a bad idea, in time the odds are very great that you would end up with a mated pair and 2 dead clowns.

what about 4 Ocellaris or 4 Perculas ? Doable ? No I've kept premnas and I wont ask that question :)

In an attempt to replace a lost male mate, my current female Tomato has tortured 2 smaller Tomato clowns until they have both eventually turned into females themselves.

2 female clowns = sure death for lesser in such a small tank

If 4 clowns were brought into the tank at the same time from the same clutch, you may have a chance of them co-mingling.
