Couple of Questions on Chloroquine Phosphate

Hey all,

I had a couple of questions regarding CP that I haven't seemed to find an answer on using the search feature.

I know that you have to remove carbon, UV, and only use ambient lighting while fishes are being dosed.

But what about skimmer, biopellets, and filter socks? I have basically turned everything off except my pellets currently.

Can we skim and use filter socks with CP or not?

Supposedly skimming does not affect CP, but I wouldn't chance it since there are no OTC test kits for CP. Biopellets and filter socks are fine.

Awesome. Thank you. I'll put my socks on and at least they can hopefully trap any leftover food and dying algae.

I thought cp doesn't affect anything biological? I'm using the pha pellets not the aio ones that have gfo.

Biological additives like Startsmart, bio spira ect might have a negative effect on the CP, same with bio pellets is why I mentioned it

I see. I didn't add any of those additives to my pellets. I'm worried if I take pellets out cold turkey I'll have a tank crash.

Keep them running. If for some reason the CP fails to work then I would look at the pellets as to why
