Couple of questions

A Yuma I have had for about a year started moving off of his rock. On the rock he left, there were two baby yumas, a little smaller than a dime each. I assumed yumas split like rics and mushrooms, any idea what happened here?

Second, is it Scopas tangs that will eat hair algae? Mine has started to get out of control.

Yeah rics split themselves to reproduce. From all the books I have read on tangs/rabbitfish, scopas tangs eat GHA more than any other zebrasomas.

Well, them main yuma is bigger than a silver dollar and it didnt split down the middle or make another mouth, it just left behind two tiny babies.

When mushrooms move across a rock they tend to leave little pieces behind that turn into small, but complete mushrooms. To propogate mushrooms, you can cut them down the center (which I prefer not to do) or you can slightly shade them so that they have to move a short distance to get the light that they prefer/need. I believe that the later of the two is the least stressful. Just my 2 pennies.

Yeah, I think that's a rule isn't it Adrian. When we give advice, we get frags from the corals that get propogated right? Lol :D And yes they will grow as Rhett said.

Zebrasoma sp. tangs will eat HA but in my experience Ctenochaetus sp. (chevron, tomini, kole, etc.) are a better choice. Phosphate reduction is the key, but some species of algae can thrive with little phosphate as they seem to be able to liberate it from the rocks.

This is true, I was figuring he wanted a zebrasoma. My kole tang is a GHA ninja.

Anthony and Adrian you can go ahead and start bring frags over anytime now. Wooo Hooo You know Im kidding.

Dang! :hmm2: but you know I would just be giving you frags of what you gave me.
