They are good - just check two things. In the crab pic - I would use a bit smaller aperture (more DOF). In the second one (the Fire Goby) the flash was a bit too powerful - overexposing the fish. This usually happens with compact cameras with onboard flashes. Try to dial in some negative compensation for the flash to set it at it's lowest setting.
Mr31415, thanks for the pointers, although I just took them in auto mode, I have no idea how to use a camera lol.. although I would like to learn, I am looking into getting a rebel xt in the future and will then try to figure out how to take really good photos
