Cover for 29g w Sunpod ?

I'm going to be moving from my 12g Aquapod to a 29g with a 30" Sunpod 4xT5 in the next few weeks. I have a very inquisitive 1 yr old kitten who has already figured out how to make it up onto the book case where the tank will go and I am sure will want to stick her paws into the water.

I have a sheet of Acrylic from Home Depot for another project (1/4" think I believe). Any reason I couldn't cut a pc to fit over the open water of the tank to keep little kitten paws out ?

I personally don't like a sealed top like that -- too much heat and lack of gas exchange. You could try some egg create, think that would keep the paws out.

I second the eggcrate. If that fails to keep kitty paws out you can build a cover by creating a frame and using window screening.

this is what i plan to to do to my tank, put egg crate ofer the filter area for heat and gas extange, and glass or acrylic on the rest. the glass will be cut where it goes straight to the rounded front so i could just flit it up and feed with out removeing the whole thing.
