depending on the type of powerhead or intake you have. some may be covered with sponges or factory made filters. I found sheets of plastic mesh at Wal-mart that could be used if you wanted to DIY/custom build one. they were in the needle point/crafts section. I also did a search on "plastic mesh" and came up with this place that sells cylinder shapes that might work as well http://www.internetmesh.net/
