My wife really wants a cow fish live aquaria says reef safe with caution. Has anyone ever put one in a reef tank. The tank I am thinking about putting one in is a 200 gal dd softies only
Thanks
Matt
They are not very reefsafe at all they like to sample most corals soft and hard as they mature , i have the long horn cowfish, they usually leave anemones alone though
I figured as much. Do they just nip like an angel will or do they distroy? Cause the tank is pretty full of leathers, zoas, xina, anthilla, clove polops, gsp, and a huge red cap colony (only sps) so if he just nips it won't hurt to much
My ex wife just had to have one, and I knew better, but I also knew better than to tell her no!
On intro it ate 3 of my clams.
It basically would nibble on anything and everything trying to see if it was eddible, and jacked alot of stuff in doing so.
My ex wife loved him, until she stuck her finger in there and it bit her!
I'm pretty sure it was checking to see if she was edible.
Thankfully both are now gone, I miss neither!LOL
I would never recommend a cowfish in a reef.
