What is the minimal sand bed footprint for a tiger Cowrie.

I have a 20 gallon long tank that i was thinking of adding a Cowrie too. Also do they eat nori ?
Are they reef safe?

Thanks in advance.

they do no live on sand bed, but browse for algae on live rocks and assorted structures. A 20 gallon long is way too small for a actual Cypraea tigris. To house cowries properly is diffcult, as many species have extremely prey specific diets (only one species of sponge etc). Best way to go would be a Cypraea arabica, which is a generalized algae eater. But 20 is still way too small to give them sufficent feeding area.

If you want a cowrie try Cypraea annulus or C. moneta, the ring or money cowries. They're both very small and seem to be entirely herbivorous.
