I dove Los Palmas,..The Palms May 6th 2010 and the "Drift" diving was great, now I hear it can get strong some times, But my experience was it was about 1/2 mph,..just enough to very SLOWLY move you forward,...very effortless diving. Our dive profile was a wall they called it, I would call it a slope.
Two dive teams of 6 divers or (3 buddy teams if you prefer that terminology) with a dive master for each team. Paradise Diver was the boat.
We dropped down on the reef to 83 fsw and drifted in a north North West direction. I shot video the entire time.
We slowly worked our way up as we drifted. At 45 minutes two of our divers were at 700 psi (new divers) so the dive master sent them up (dive master has a signal buoy on reel) so they follow it up SLOWLY, 3 minute safety stop at 15 fsw and board the boat.
We were at about 45 fsw at this point. We continued on and when we were at 54 minutes the 5 were at 17 fsw and 900 to 600 psi we ascended (LOL) to 15 fsw for our safety stop, everyone was diving their own computers and as they cleared that diver would slowly ascend to the boat.
I dive a Mares M1 RGB and I assume it is the most conservative my computer cleared LAST so me and the dive master ascended and boarded the boat so my total time was 1hr 2 minutes, and 600 psi
Is there a way for me to post the video I shot here on RC?
