CPR HOB Refugiums?

I am in a real slow process of putting together a 40gLong sumpless with HOB skimmer. I was originally considering modifying an ac110 as a refugium, but came across the CPR HOB refugiums. The med claims 3.6 gallon and would probably do a better job than a converted ac110 for a 40gal.

The only limitation I am running into is how much stuff will be hanging on the back! I was going to use an ac70 for carbon and or floss and may still have room but between hob skimmer and the hob refugium I am starting to be squeezed for space. Could I toss the ac70 by using the cpr refug? Oh the tank will hopefully one day end up being a reef with light fish load.

Lastly anyone have any review of the CPR refuges?

Thanks

toss the ac70 and just use a carbon bag inside of the CPR hangon--- add some live sand and some macro algae and live rock to get the effect you want. I used a 18watt light to hang over it and had it on a reverse cycle of my main tank lighting. i also was able to put my heater inside of it to instead of inside the tank

I have the Aerofuge on my 56 Gallon tank and it works awesome, it only needs like 3 inches of space behind the tank and get the kit with the light and be done. skimmer pulls about a cup of nasty gunk out of my tank in a week and I have cheato in the fuge that grows pretty good, My tank is crystal clear and no ammonia , no nitrites and nitrates are basically unreadable!
