Can someone shed some light? I heard you need this in a reef tank for sure. Found a good deal on this particular model....
can someone tell me why, how it works, etc.......
im clueless about this.....

also, does anyone know anything about Venturi Protein Skimmers...efficency? loudness? etc...

Can you post a link for the product?

Most skimmers are loud enough to be annoying in some situations, IMO.

Don't rush into buying equipment no matter how good the deal seems. Most experienced aquarists have a closet (or garage) full of good deals  .

Spend some time reading threads and esp threads where people have a tank similar to what you want and check out what they use.

Also read the descriptions of "Tank of the Month" in RK Magazine.

jmo,

That's the thing....I really need a protein skimmer.... my tanks up and running now and it's over due........
and i've been waiting for almost 2 months and asking around like crazy and i can't really wait anymore....

I would probably look elsewhere for a protein skimmer. They seem to be a bit of mystery in general. For a 55g, people have been reporting good results with a CoraLife skimmer, and the Remora Pro seems okay to me so far.

The calcium reactor is unnecessary and that particular product is very incomplete. You have a couple hundred dollars worth more equipment to buy to get a usable system. Limewater or B-Ionic are more practical, IMO.

I just have a system with 35 total gal, been looking at this cro1 reactor, is it really worth it??

Also Im looking at a product call kent liquid reactor??? it this any good? Now im just using b-ionic and kalk water in the ato. The ARM added mag as well doesnt it???
