Crab Id. Please! (Pic inside!!!)

Can someone tell me what kinda crab this is. It is a hitchhiker and I just want to know if its reef safe.

that would be a bad crab! if possible get him out. gorillas are bad. as he get bigger he will start eating alot of other things.

Maybe a Teddy Bear Crab? (1/2 way down page) He looks kinda fuzzy/hairy...

He is fuzzy and before he molted he didnt have much hair so he may be getting hairer?... Its in a 10 gallon FOWLR with only one clown. Do gorilla crabs eat corals or fish or all of the above?

After looking at pics of gorilla crabs that what i think it is... he has black claws just like all the gorilla pics i saw... is this bad?

from what ive heard they're basically a nightmare and eat anything... saw a thread of a guy that had a 4 inch one in his reeftank that took months to get out.

It was hard to tell from the pic. It looked a little like the furry crabs that hitchhike on Marshall Island rock which are harmless.

Them be some big looking claws. I wouldn't imagine he has them for no reason. When in doubt, remove it when it comes to crabs.

i had a couple of those. thier bad news dude! catch him! i found them clutched onto my montipora digitata and devouring it. the owner of an LFS i used to go to told me that if a crab has black tips on his claws, hes bad. thats pretty vauge but its something to reference...

haven't seen mine or months now but it never ate any live fish probably a few hermits or snails though...used to come out during feeding but not anymore.....

Still never got a conclusive answer to what my guy is but if he's the same as yours then he won't eat any corals or live fish...at least mine didn't

If ya can't catch him I would take a long thin sharp piece of bamboo and kabob his furry butt... better to be safer then sorry. I did this to 3 crabs off my fiji live rock that I didn't trust.. black claws.

Put him in your sump[if you have one] or take him to a LFS...No need to kill him.
