Thanks for any info...

it being out of water makes it hard to identify. first did you just get this staghorn? there are crabs that live in sps and actually protect them. others eat them. he looks hairy so im guessy gorilla crab. is he eating anything? i mean your sps that he was found on? any dead spots just pop up? if you are a coral guy i wouldnt even think about it...he could be ok but for your corals just get him out for good!

i dont know. wish you had a pic of him in the water.

Almost looks like a good guy to me. I dont see hair though, looks smooth shelled to me

Is he hairy?? dont kill him yet. We might be putting him right back in the stag. ;)

Not hairy...he is in a tupperware container until he is deemed good or bad. That is a toothpick he is on so he is quite small.

The Stag is healthy and does not appear to have any spots that look suspicious.

could be an sps crab thats not a threat! do a search and compare pics. another thought.....ask urself have u added any new corals or rocks latly? if not in the last 3 months then hes been thee=re for a while and if the corals are ok he must not be feeding on them. me personally as a coral lover id give him away or send him to the sump/

if he is smooth shelled and in your stag.........i say good guy. Put him back

everybody at the bottom of this page is a good guy. he looks kinda like the second pic.......

Even if he didnt look exactly like that Id say good guy. Ive had a bunch of different colored acro crabs that arent all pictured there

Im kind of fond of my acro crabs. they are the only crabs I keep in my systems

i am 99% sure thats a coral crab. corals usually do better with one of those little guys protecting it, and keeping it clean.
