I've tried to get a pic of it and no luck. I've seen a couple times. It's a purple crab with white stripes on its legs. Just curious what type and how big it might get.
I got some livestock from an aquarium that was at a school that closed... It had some off stuff in it. All is doing good, and just saw this guy the other night. No idea where it originated from. Thanks
Color is irrelevant in IDing crabs.
Experts need a good closeup picture to tell you the general genus of your specimen. In many cases physical examination or even dissection may be necessary because many species are differentiated based on the shape or position of rather small anatomical features.
I understand that the crab is reclusive and hard to get a decent picture of but crabs are simply difficult in a lot of respects.
