Ive had this crab over 1 year. It will eat fish when fed but seems to graze on the rocks.
I can't get a picture or find 1 on the ID sites.
It has banded legs a brownish orange and white
Body and claws are the same brownish orange and the claws are pointed and black.
Very reclusive, stays in crevises most of the time.
Body is about 1" diameter and smooth.
Any thoughts?

Little more info:
Body has the basic shape of an Emerald with some hairs and light underbelly
Legs are hairy and about 1.5" long

No, not a sponge crab but they seem pretty cool. This guy has long thin legs banded coloring, hairy. Claws are black pointed on brown arms.

There are a variety of species in the genus Mithrax and family Mithracidae. To see a few of them check our site at http://www.nhm.org/guana/bvi-invt/bvi-surv/crab-g03.htm

many have similarities but not quite, thanks. It doesn't seem to bother anything. I guess Im just worried about how big it is getting.
I worry that its diet may change as it grows.
