Crab in Yellow Tort Colony. Good or bad? Pic inside.

Ok I caught the crap, about the size of a nickel. I also found one in my Blue Slimer Colony, only the crab was smaller. Both crabs are now history. Here are a couple pics, what do you guys think?

Definitely good that they are out!!! When the colony they are on is big enough they probably would be fine, but if not they can cause real damage. The colonies I have gotten mine off of also look much better within a couple of days after their removal.

The yellow tort colony is about 5.5" across and has been growing well. I spotted the crab a month ago but didn't think anything of it.

Same goes for the Blue Slimer, it has been coloring up very well and growing.

But, as that Mafia boss in "Casino" said: "Why take a chance"

Good catch. I had a hitch hicker like that apparently for a long time, ended up being about 2 inches (Godzilla crab) Got it with a knive. If it wern't in the tank it would have gotten the 12 gauge.

Those look like the ones I had in a couple of colonies. I had them in there for a good couple months before I finally started to see real tissuse damage.

I'm not sure if it's just an illusion, but it does look like there is tissue damage in that pic you show just to the left of the crab. Looks a lot like the tissue damage I was seeing. Here are my pics:

The cool part - a few weeks after removing the crab, and the entire colony is all healed up!
