hi guys,

help me to solve this mistery...

three days ago i found a small crab dead in the sand... one of thos small crab that usually camein LR and hide during the day...

next day i found other two dead...

yesterday... one more

today... my hermit crab was found dead...

parameters are fine:
NH4 -- 0
NO2 -- 0
NO3 -- 10
Salinity -- 1.024
Ph -- 8.2
KH - 8.7
Ca - 400
Mg - 1280

Any idea of what is going one with them ?

are crabs sensible to changes in KH, Ca and Mg? (i've been dosing it for the past week - but very slow, as recommended by the manufecture)

thanks for the help guys

cheers

Any chance you have copper in your tank?

i don't know... How could have copper entered my tank? i do my water changes with ro water mixed with red sea coral pro salt...

i dosed red sea supplements during this week... to raise KH, Ca and Mg...

besides that not entered the tank...

oh and frozen food....

i don't think so... the first one to die stay there for three days after i remove it... he was falling apart...

i touched the hermit crab and there has no reaction from him... when i gently touch him, one of the leg fell apart

I feel like you are describing molts not bodies..

Are you dosing 2 part? 2 parts include the correct balance of other elements like Iodine. Iodine will cause inverts to molt. My shrimp used to molt when I dosed big once a week.

Agree, sounds like molts. A good way to tell between molt and a dead crab is to smell it. You'll find out real fast.
