Craig's 300G Display, 750G total build.

Thanks for the progress pics, you are doing an amazing job and looks like you are really thinking out your build.
Good job

Looking good! Is the sump is going through the algae bloom phase? What are your impressions on the mp 60's? Are they noisy at all?

We are also building a garage fishroom, following along closely. :)

Thanks for all the comments.

The sump isn't really going through a algae bloom. I just have 2 85w 6500k cfl bulbs on 18 hours a day. My main goal with this tank is to keep my nitrates next to nothing. So I'm growing my chaeto like crazy.

I absolutely love my mp60's. If they're turned all the way up they can be a little loud but not too bad. I feel the noise is low when you consider that they are moving 7500 gph. I hate the look of beautiful tanks with cords inside. So I don't mind a little hum. Ecotech will be coming out with the new quietdrive vortech's for those that the noise bothers. Plus they will push more water. I'm sure they'll be more $ but your getting what you pay for.

Cool, I thought I seen a mass of chaeto in there.

That's interesting, first I have heard of the quiet drive pumps. We are torn between the mp60's and the new riptide/gyre pumps. I have heard of quality issues with the riptide and I know the mp60's are a quality product with alot of features, so it keeps me leaning toward the vortechs. I like to keep all cords out also, looks alot cleaner.

I've heard the same about the Riptides. I would wait for the new Vortechs. r e e f b u i l d e r s had an article about them last week, Jan 29th to be exact.
