... so here's some pictures of the new acrylic tank minus bracing / trim
It measures 36" x 20" x 22" external
1" Thick Polycast Acrylic
Rounded / polished corners and lip
sump is 24" x 18" x 16" with a 24" x 7" x 16" refugium built in.
Stand is 36" x 22" x 36"
Who's in line? J/k, I'm seriously going to put water in this one... no really... ok fine start a waiting list, lol.
stand:
stand with sump, notice how well the sump fills the width of the stand (I put in a small cold cathode touch lamp on the inside top of the tank so I can see what I'm working on, it's not a fuge light or anything):
one of my dc8's mounted in the upper right corner on the back lip of the open back stand. my other dc8 is at phong (elite)'s place. Still haven't been able to make it down there yet to pickup:
closeups of the sump:
I actually decided to focus for this shot:
Here's the display tank (still with the paper on it just in case it gets damaged from all the installs):
The back was painted then laminated black, who knows why, but you can see some paint on the paper:
The closeups of the corners:
Overall I'm happy with the build. There are a few bubbles at the seams, but the rounded corners totally get rid of them.
My equipment will include:
-Maristar 280watt HQI pendant w/ 2x24watt Actinic T5 supplement
-Light rail (moves light across top of tank, starting at the left to the right in one day)
-Tunze 6025 (2) and Tunze 6045 (2) for flow or... the Hydor Koralia 1200gph (4) when they come out + tunze multicontroller
- Tunze 9010 Skimmer (rated for 265gallons, super quiet, etc)
- Quiet One 4000 return pump
- AquaticSystemsDesign Custom Ca Reactor setup
- Remote Deep Sand Bed
- Reeffanatic Level Controller for ATO
- Neptune Aquacontroller III + 2x DC8's.
- Aquatecnics 1/6hp Trim Inline Chiller
- Ebo Jager 2x150watt heaters
Setup:
- 45lbs of Reeferrocks + a few pounds of established LR to seed
- Bare Bottom or super short sand bed
- schedule 80 bulkheads
- chaeto in fuge suspended by eggcrate rack + fuge light
- reverse photo period for fuge light
- mostly sps, a few zoos, and a few fish
Thanks for looking!!!
