hay guys i had a crash in my tank about 2 months ago it was my falt that it crashed i had gotton a ro filter for my tank from the guy who owns the house next door (he rents it out) well i put the ro filter in the basement and ran a hose up through my walls to my tank and put a drinking spicket on the end of it well my tank got low on water so i turned it on at about 9pm i was about 5 gallons low so i figured it would take about an hr to fill well i fogot about it and went to bed needless to say it over filled my tank and flooded my floor to and killed every thing in it (witch was a bummer but thats what happens) so now i have to start all over again so now im trying to get tank back up and going again.

Sorry to hear that. I have left the water running before too. But my tank was a 220g system and by the time it started to overflow, the SG had barely fallen. Auto-top offs are the only way to go. It's a must anymore. I hate to say this, because I know it is hard to start over again. But starting over again may be a good thing. You'll know what to do and what to do. Maybe even reconfigure the plumbing or something.

Where are you located??

That's horrible, every reefers worst nightmare. I would be devasted if my tanks ever crashed. But it's good that you've recovered and are starting again, now you have to go bigger right?

that sucks...sometimes we learn more through challenges than not...hope the second round goes better

Don't let it bring you down too much, many people have had this problem happen to them including myself. Lost almost everything in one of my tanks. But the human nature is to persevere and when things turn out better than before it's all worth it.

yah i wont let it bring me down ill just do my best to get stuff back in my tank when i get it up and running fully.

i would love to get a bigger tank but cant aford one at this time that and on a fixed income but maybe some day ill get one
