Crazy Skeleton on Acanthophyllia Coral

Booo...

It got some sort of weird infection (I guess?) and it just kept receding on one side. I tried absolutely everything (not my first rodeo.) I think that was definitely the worst I've ever felt losing a coral.

Awe man! I'm sorry! It was worth it and it would have been beautiful! Also, since you know a ton, could you look at my most recent post about the hairy mushroom spewing?!

I do all three. I've since revised this. I do a hydrogen peroxide dip, then a Bayer dip, then a Coral Rx dip. Please note...I only do this for sick/infested corals.

I've noticed they don't come back very easily (I had a bunch next to each other not knowing they would attack each other). I just started clipping the sharp points off with toenail clippers and I've noticed a few of them extending further over the receded skeleton. I also snip points off that protrude through flesh. I'm not sure how they will grow with parts missing but at least their still alive.

He might have been replying to my experience with acanthophyllia revival.

Off topic: I know how irritating it can be when people ask questions or say something already answered in the thread lol

Yeah, maybe. There were a couple other posts that had already been covered and I guess it was bugging me. Oh well.

Sorry, I really didn't read it besides the first few posts. I am just trying to get to 50. If it irratates you I apologize. I will read all info before posting!

It's alright, I've done it myself. I would have let it go if I hadn't seen several people doing it in this thread.

I usually do this too, but this one was hard to clip the points on since the tissue went very close on each piece (hard to see in the photos.) The corals do seem to heal faster that way over a smoother base than reconfigure itself over an old skeleton.
