Crazy skunk cleaner and carpet anemone with pics

I just got a carpet nem 3 days ago and he moved from the sand to the rocks yesterday. My crazy scarlet skunk cleaner shrimp will not leave him alone! I didn't feed him yet wanting him to get settled in first. The crazy shrimp is all over him all the time. My tank raised oss clowns don't even look at the nem they are in love with the corner silicone joints. Has anybody ever had this or heard of this problem. My kids want the shrimp safe since he is their favorite. I did get the carpet for the clowns but they do not appreciate their gift.

I added one also few months ago, it's always in the area of Haddoni cleaning everything. Never seen it on top of though. To be honest, I'm shocked mine hasn't been eaten. I'm completely blown away yours hasn't either.

The clowns do not like the carpet because it is not a hosting species. Looks like you picked up S. helianthus, the atlantic carpet anemone.

The nem looked happy and loving his location for the past few days. His mouth was nice and tight and great color and fully opened. The shrimp wouldn't leave him alone since we got him and was really bothering him last night. I even tried to give him snacks on the other side of the tank to keep him away. This morning I woke up to the nem upside down in the sand with the shrimp standing on top of him, like he defeated his opponent. I scooped him up and put him in quarantine but his mouth is now swelling and he is not sticky at all. I really think the shrimp killed the nem. I checked all water levels everything looks good but did a water change just in case. I am going to leave him in quarantine by himself until he is either fully dead or better.

I doubt that the shrimp killed the anemone.

How old is the tank? Looks like some really white sand . . .

Tank is just over 1 yr old. I did just clean all the sand just before I got the nem. I am super picky about the sand looking clean.

By "clean," did you mean simply siphoning the surface, or did you remove and rinse?

I just siphoned it. I do it every week with my water changes to keep up on it. And if there is any left over food after feeding, I turkey baster it out. I have been doing this for the whole time I had the tank except for when it first cycled.
