Creating a ricordea and yuma garden what do you think any suggestions or colors should look to add

adding more couldn't hurt. I think your 3 x 400MH is a lot of power for them. some look kind of 'shrivled' and if you added more blue light you would really appreciate how nice they are!

Yeah i plan to add T5 with ATI Blue Plus bulbs and switch to 20k bulbs in the MH

Do you think the type of light is what makes ric shrink?

I have LED on mine and they are shrinking by the day, ready to drag out my power compacts very soon.

I have even backed off on the amount of light they get, my tank is a 2 gal pico with only florida ricordeas in it and my LED full strength is 9 watts right now I have 3 watts on them and even have that shaded and they are not open and nice at all. I truly believe this light is to blame.

I'm no expert but from what i experience so far is that under MH 10k they haven't been any shrinking but some yuma have washed in color. i would simply move them to a more shaded area, the FL ricordeas i have placed bottom or middle levels under MH had no problems. what i have found that bothers them (yuma and FL ric) the most is flow. i created a cave area in my tank now to give them very little flow.

Try to place them in a slight depression so food will accumulate around them. I feed mine brine shrimp and cyclopeze every other day.
