I don't expect to see ABC or TRS type stores around here, but I was over in "The Bridge" the other day and stopped into CC to kill some time and left in a bad mood. :mad2:
It looked like the Gulf did this summer. Most tanks had this oily film floating on top of the water and I have never seen so many different sick fish with all sorts of issues. :blown: I really don't understand it! After all the money they seemed to have spent this summer on their saltwater, it was the worst store I have ever been into as far as tank and fish health goes. :uzi: Made Livingston's look like a pro-shop. I know people complain about Nature on 26 here for their lack of selection, but at least his fish tend to be healthy and his tanks may have some hair algae, but at least there are no oil spills.

The Zero Edge was a huge mistake on their part. Every time i go there there is someone putting their fingers or hands in. Last time i was there the tanks were pretty bad also. That was little over a month ago.

Wow really sorry to hear this. I thought they were starting to turn things around. Last time I was there things were looking good but that’s been awhile.

I'm sorry but I live in Rochester and my brother lives down in Elmira, he is going to start a tank soon, he was wondering where the best selection of corals and fish are.

any suggestions?

thanks,
Jacob

We have no LFS's down here in the Binghamton area that have any selection of corals. I have only been once but ABC in Syracuse had some awesome corals when I was there. I know there are a few more shops up there so maybe someone will chime in on there names. Geo and Jim also have something going on I think it's open check the swap thread for the address as I believe that is the shop address as well. Nature on 26 mentioned above usually has healthy fish but not much of a selection.

Hey guys - I was just at Nature this weekend and he actually had a nice selection (of fish). There were a couple of really nice yellow tangs and a few other tangs I'm not totally sure what they were. I picked up a rainford goby (been looking for a healthy one for ever) for $20. Had a couple of nice angles too, lets hope this new stock brings in more.

I have been to two ok stores in Elmira (I think they are both on Lake road maybe ?) But not sure of the names. Neither is anything like what you have in Rochester or ABC in 'Cuse

Here in Elmira there is The City Zoo and Tropical Fish Outlet. I really wouldnt bother with either honestly. When your brother is ready to set his tank up give me a shout and I'll give him a hand and help him find some decent livestock!
