Crinkly BTA

I have had this RBTA since early March. She split in May now there are two. Now I know BTA's often lose their bubble tips. This one had a lot when I first got her. She was also a little bleached. Question is, why are the tentacles all clrinkley? I have seen pictures of other BTA's with the same issue (like on Meleves site)

They seem happy. Don't move around. I feed them a piece of squid or shrimp about every other week. They are always open.

Tank - 125 AGA
Lights - 3X 150MH XM 15K


Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate ~0
CA - 440
Alk - 8-9 dKH

shot in the dark, but those lights (XM 15K's) don't have very high PAR values.. might be that, as well as other things.

How old is your tank?

It's a million-dollar question why BTA's do what they do when they do it with their tentacles.

The tank was set up in January however I took two tanks (One from my office and one from my home) that were over 10 years old and combined them to make this one. Maybe i'll figure out how to supplement the lights.
