Crisis at 1.00 am

hey if anyone is interested in organizing a keys snorkling trip let me know, i dont have a car but i work at a hotel, which means rates less than 50 a night in the mid-upper keys, I'm eager to go down there and check stuff out, maybe a group of 3 or 4 of us can go down there for a weekend cheap and collect stuff! Let me know.....
Best regards
Ryan

When i was certified I did it in 2 day classroom (weekend)and 2 days of I think 4-5 dives(next weekend). Make sure you do padi they are the largest in the world. Some places don't take the smaller certifications. I think I paid $199. You can get a personal instructor to set up a group rate if you search for it.

ive gotta say... i dont wanna be anyones party pooper nor do i wanna step all over your certification NYVP but i dont trust those 4 day programs... like the hobby nothing in the real ocean happens fast and you should really take the time to learn everything you need to learn about the physics of diving and how it affects your body in any and every situation... my course was a little long (3 months) but i really feel like i learned everything i need to learn to be a safe diver...

Also, and this is a personal opinion, PADI seems to be out for your money rather than out for your well being... 199 is a great price but ive never seen a PADI certification for that price before, usually its like 400 and they do it in the 4 days so you can dive ASAP... also i am NAUI certified and i think that their charts are easier to read...lol

I disagree with you Matt. Most of what you learn could be done in 8 hours. My course was done in 4 weeks, but it was only 3 hours one day a week. I have always been happy with my PADI cert. I don't remember the cost as it was long ago.

If I was going to get certified with anything other than PADI I would check at some of the dive shops were you want to dive and see if they will take that kind.

It doesnt matter if you do in 2 days or 3 months. Its still takes the same amount of hrs to pass and get your certification. I personally think its all about the instructors I dont think Naui or padi really makes or breaks how well everything goes.

i prefer to freedive, doesnt scare stuff with bubbles, no worry of the bends, feels more free, just cant go down as deep, i used to be able to go 2 1/2 minutes each, all day long.
