Crispa or Malu

Picked this up from the local Petco for $5. Of course it was labeled as a "Sabae Anemone" and is obviously completely bleached. It was still very sticky when I purchased it a week ago and I have fed it PE Mysis twice. It responds well to feeding also.

I realize this picture is not the best and the column is not visible at all. The column is currently attached to the back glass which is where it first attached when I placed it in the tank.

Based on the tentacle layout, does anyone have a best guess on whether it is H. Crispa or H. Malu? Picture doesn't show it well, but it does have the blue/purple tips.

My guess would be crispa but it could go either way. Is the column thick and leathery? If so it's most likely a crispa. If the column shows any sort of orange or red at the base it's most likely malu.

I have three Malu, none have any color on the base.
It is hard to tell from your picture. You just have to nurse it back to health then decide then.

I agree not all malu exhibit the orange base color, but if a questionable nem does, it makes the id a lot easier.

Thanks

The column is solid white, no color at all. I wouldn't describe it as leathery at least by looks. It appears very smooth. With that being said, I can't see it well at all due to its location in the tank.

Since it is bleached, I expect it to move out into the light at some point soon. Hopefully I can get better pics then.
