Wanted to get some feedback on stocking ideas for upcoming system build.

Display 84" x 30" x " 22 (240 gallons) with 80 gallon fishless display refugium for growing macro (for fish food and nutrient export) and cultivating pods, and roughly 55g sump. Shallow sand bed.

Tank will be mixed reef but primarily LPS, anemones (bubble tip and rock anemones), and clams.

Male and female spotbreast angelfish
Male and female blue throat triggers
Magnificent foxface
Foxface Lo
Chevron or purple tang
Striped blenny
Pink margin wrasse
Pair of maroon clowns
Pink spotted watchman goby
2 or 3 lineatus fairy wrasse

Looking for compatible fish that are not finicky eaters with medium overall bio load. LPS, clams, and macro like a decent nutrient load and I won't be keeping SPS. I'd like to be able to pull macro out of the fuge to feed the Foxface and tang. Perhaps some of the other fish would also eat the macro.

Thoughts?

Personally I would get one Lineatus and get two more different fairy wrasses. Wrasses don't pair up and you could get a lot more interesting fish than female lineatus (which can be hard to find sometimes). Maybe a flame and a yellow flanked?

Thanks, that's a consideration. Also, I meant to say pink streaked wrasse, not pink margin. Pink streaked from what I understand are good at keeping pests in check.

+1

Female wrasses are more than likely to turn male in captivity, causing problems with conspecifics (fighting, deaths) long-term. Best to get males of different Cirrhilabrus species as recommended above.

I do love the halichoeres wrasses and have to agree with your preference to them over the fairy wrasses, but I'm planning a shallow 1 inch sand bed so don't think they'll have enough space to dive in at night. I've had the melanrus, radiant, and grey head (personal favorite) in previous tanks with DSB.

Do you think a Midas blenny would be compatible with a striped blenny?
