The other thing I learned tonight it that bobbit's typically burrow in sand and really small stones. If that was the case with this fellar, then pulling out the rock missed him.

For sure a Eunice worm in the first pictures, but the pieces don't look the same as a Eunice. Keep an eye out.

Sometimes they can chill in the rock. I'm wrong frequently, just ask my wife.

They hide in the rock. Creep out to grab food and shoot in when they sense any movement. I took all worms out when I had my issues. You can see bobbits and bristles.

Well, if it was in the rock that I took out then it's probably dead. Albeit still in the rock. I don't think it could survive 24 hours in unheated freshwater. The water was probably 68* at best.

you probably got it, just keep an eye out though. Those suckers can get huge, recently I had to help a friend get all of the rock out of his 700gal as it blew a seam near the bottom and put all the rock into a brute with water and a powerhead. Next morning, GIANT bobbit worm at the top and I couldn't catch it. Fast forward a couple days, everything on and in the rocks die and I find an 8 foot long 1in thick, let me repeat that, 8 foot long 1in thick bobbit work in the bottom of the tub. Moral of the story, keep your eyes open and make sure you got it.

It was content eating gobs of waving hand anthelia and snails, I'll have to figure out how to upload the cruddy pic from my phone for you guys to have nightmares about.
