critter living in my favia

Is it common to have things living in your favia? When I bought it over a year ago, it seem to have a tiny hole in it. I never thought too much of it, just figured it was one of mother natures defects. Well the hole has enlarged just a bit since then. I was looking at it really closely the other day and I saw a little critter face staring back at me. I would have snapped a picture but I think it is too small to show up. Anyway, I didn't know if it was common to have stuff bore into favia and live there?

there are such things as gall crabs that live symbioticly with the corals. if you've had it for a year and the coral is growing and healthy then i don't think that i would personally remove it, you might end up doing more harm then good. but if it is harming the coral, then by all means get it out. search for gall crabs in this forum. there has been a lot of discussion about them.

nah, he's been there for over a year and the hole isn't too big. I was just curious, didn't know what he was.
