so my clam keeps moving towards the front glass and its mantle is flapped up on the glass, is this ok for it? Everything seems to be ok with it, mantle fully out, nice open in syphon, just want to make sure this wont harm it in any way. Thanks.

Should be fine. I have a teardrop maxima that did that for a while; it's perfectly fine, but it seemed to deposit some calcium onto the glass. This clam is also *regretfully* attached to the bottom glass.:hmm2:

Clams seem to move when they are not happy. All of the croceas I have owned did the same thing (2 different tanks) (moved to front glass- and turned sideways) Hey, I recently had a maxi climb up, thats right, UP onto a rock!! :D I have had clams many years- never seen/heard that one :)
They seem to move around till they find a spot they like.. if it really bothers you move him.. if not- leave him alone.

Hi,

I have experienced the same thing. Could it be that they go for the additional light, which is offered to them by the reflection of the front glass, or additional daylight?

Bye Erik

Some clams are roamers. Im not saying there isn't a problem just that some move. I notice it more in smaller ones, and in Max's more than others.
