crocea and max ??

i had a crocea for like 6 months ,was doing great,i noticed it moving over the course of time,to a spot like in the shade on the tank,like under an overhang,but still was doing fine,then all of a sudden the snails were all over it,within 2 days it was dead??i have all optimum parameters,awesome light,and flow??what could it be?well a couple months have passed and i just got a large gold maxima,how can i monitor so that this doesnt happen again?? any thoughts or ideas??

the clam was probably moving because it was looking for more light or less flow. Can you post a pic of your maxima?
