Crocea and Maxima Placement

Hello - I purchased a small crocea ~ 1 month ago and it seems to be doing OK, but I wanted to confirm that I have placed it properly and that it has enough light. It is at 16 inches of depth in my tank (90 gallon with 24 inch height) on a piece of live rock. My lighting is 2x150W metal halide and 2x 96W actinic (an Aqualight Pro hood). Is this sufficient or does it need to be much higher in the water column with this lighting? I also just got a small gold maxima yesterday. He's on the substrate now, but I will move him on to live rock shortly. How high should he be in the water? Thanks.

150 MH is a bit weak, not much punch from those.
Just keep an eye on it though.
If you see is gaping, move it.

Do you think the lighting is week even when supplemented by the 2x96W actinics? What are the general watt/gallon guidelines for keeping clams?

You can move the clam higer up in the tank if you see the clam tuing darker in color, which is the 1st indication it is not getting enought light.

I'd say move it up, IME, Croceas are the most light demanding of all clams, and I think you barely have enough for its long term survival.
