Crocea came unattached?

How bad of a sign is it when they just let go of the rock? My clam had been doing great and growing fast. Today it just fell off the rock it was attached to. Is this common? Could it need more light? I looked for any bad guys on his bottom and could find none. This is my first clam. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

did he drop his foot, or just let go?

The threads are still on the rock where he left them. I came home today and he seems to be alittle stuck to the new spot where I put him this morning.

they can drop their byssal thread and go in search of greener pastures ( more light / less flow etc ... )

keep an eye on him but he should be fine, just looking for a change in scenery

I moved him to a brighter part of the tank. do you think it may have just not been getting enough light?
