crocea clam issue

Hello,

I've had this crocea clam for roughly 5 months or so. Always seemed healthy and has had it's mantle wide open. The other day I relocated him by moving the rock he is on. He originally opened fully but has not the past few days. I noticed a growth on the top of his shell. It looks like there is something in it that comes out when the mantle is opening. What is it?

probably a barnacle, if it is, its not new to the shell, and not whats upsetting the clam.if the clam changed position on the stone you may have damaged its foot, if you changed how high it sets in the tank it could be the change in light. wish you had a better pic, then i could tell you for sure

My first impression was that it looked a ton like a barnacle. I moved him up higher in the move, but assumed he would be acclimated after a few days.

Actually, he's opened up a ton more in the time it took me to post this and walk back upstairs. Maybe he's just messing with me
