Crocea Clam Placement?

I currently have my clam on the sand bed and was wondering if it's better to have it higher up in the rock-work?

Crocea clams like higher light. They are best placed in the rock work or on something hard to mount their foot on. On the sand they may attach to the glass on the bottom of your tank and be hard to move. Both of mine are placed in the middle to higher in the tank on the rocks in med/low flow areas. They may move a little till they like the spot they are in but once attached they pretty much stay put if they are happy. Both have stayed put a yr to 2 yrs in mine.
Post this in the "Tridacnid Clams and other Mollusks" forum and you will probably get more/better answers

in the wild they are only found up on the rocks. but placement really depends on your lighting and if its strong enough to reach the clam
